The Mexican National Immigration Institute has joined with local government of Cancun to make travel safer and quicker for visitors. In order to avoid congestion at the arrivals counters at the Cancun international Airport officials have increased the number of customs agents from 13 to 100. Officials estimate that the entire customs process can be completed in under 2 minutes.
The customs form can now be downloaded and filled out prior to arrival to expedite things even further.
Covid-19 cases have dropped in recent weeks so changed have been made park, beaches, hotels, restaurants, theme parks, museums, historic sites, tour-guide services, shopping centers, boutiques, theaters and cinemas will also be able to open at 60 percent capacity.
Golf courses are at 100%, Marinas and nautical adventures are at 70%. Water parks and spas are at 60% of capacity. Gyms and sports clubs are at 50% indoors.
Negative Covid-19 testing is not required to enter Mexico. Covid-19 testing is required to return to the US. Most of the resorts are offering free testing on-site.
