TSA sets new record in passengers screened.

This past weekend TSA reported that over 2 million passengers were screened at US airports.

2 million plus passengers is just slightly below 2019 passenger numbers with fewer airport personnel. Resulting in much longer lines for check -in and security check points.

New recommended check in times are 2 hours prior for domestic and 3:30 hour for international.

Please keep in mind that on Holidays waits are longer so suggested arrival is earlier and you should add 30 minutes to the new guidelines.

Some rules to still keep in mind - 3 - 1 -1 you are allowed on quart size bag to put liquids, aerosols, gels and pastes that are 3.4 ounces or less. To make screening quicker take them out of your bag and put them in the tray provided by TSA. Anything over that size like sunscreen must be in your checked bag.

Medications if possible take them in original packaging and if they are in liquid form alert TSA before put them on the belt to be screened.

If you are traveling for a wedding or special event. Your formal clothing will require additional screening. Pack those in a garment bag and arrive early to allow time for additional screening.

Gowns with beading and multiple layers may need to be removed from the garment bag and

screened by hand.
