Airlines are charging change fees again.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic many US based airlines waived change fees in order to keep customers flying. The airlines are currently running at full capacity on many flights especially for summer vacation hot spots.

All airlines have now stopped blocking the middle seat as many travelers are now fully vaccinated and Covid-19 numbers have dropped in most areas.

Many of those airlines are again making changes to policy.

A few of those changes are listed below:

American Airlines basic economy is non-changeable and non-refundable.

Delta, Alaska and United have gone back to non-refundable and non-refundable on basic economy fares.

Other fares have various rules and you need to know what the fare rules are before you purchase your ticket in order not to lose the whole value of your ticket in the event that you need to make a change.

Baggage and seat fees are still being charged. Masks are still required on flights when you are not eating or drinking.
